Our story
During our life journey, we live, love, and age. We change. Our bodies change. We may have children. Or perhaps we simply want to feel feminine. Beautiful. We are convinced that true beauty comes from within, but we also believe in highlighting it. Ipomia gives your new silhouette some love and care – enhancing the beautiful woman you are.
Let's start from the beginning
My name is Cecilia Kadar. The idea for Ipomia came to me as a mother of three, approaching my 40s. Three wonderful children had changed my life, but also my body. Despite a healthy lifestyle with a rigorous exercise regime, some parts of the body are harder to change after three children.
That's why I decided to restore my breasts to what they once were, to feel like myself again.
In 2011, I had breast augmentation at Akademikliniken in Stockholm. My surgeon, Riikka Veltheim, made me comfortable and recreated my previous bust with amazing results.

After my surgery
I was introduced to a whole new world of lingerie. Breasts with implants require special support, which was anything but pretty. Undoubtedly practical and supportive, and of course very important. But so incredibly dull.
For three months, my new bust was hidden in nondescript sports bras that were also hard to conceal. It was warm and uncomfortable, and not at all flattering. Tired of the dull healing bras on the market, I decided to create what I wanted. Bras that are comfortable and supportive and can be worn from day one after surgery, yet beautiful and sensual enough for both work and parties. Surely there must be a way to get the optimal support for healing and shaping after breast augmentation, while still looking chic and feminine.

A demand in the market
My surgeon Riikka confirmed there was a need and a demand in the market. Many women came to the clinic for advice on bras and wanted those designed with better support and fit for implants. With the idea of combining practical features with sensual design, we contacted the talented designer Melika Zavareh. Together we then developed our idea in collaboration with the founder of Akademikliniken, Per Hedén.
Soon, Ipomia was formed. A name inspired by the flower Morning Glory, and its Latin name IPOMOEA, meaning "attach myself to you/affection", which comes from the leaves that wrap around and protect the flower. With the loving and supportive embrace of the flower in mind, our goal is to become the leading global lingerie brand for women who have undergone breast augmentation - with quality, design, function, and fit as our guiding stars.
